Small, Robust Micro-USB Connector for Mobile Applications
Manufacturers of mobile electronic devices like cell phones, PDA's, digicams are facing the limits of miniaturisation with the use of Mini-USB connectors. W+P PRODUCTS makes it possible to develop even smaller mobile devices with the new Micro-USB connector series 8270.
Compared to the conventional Mini-USB connectors, the new connectors help to reduce the required space by up to 50 percent.
This marks a serious advantage for the compact design of modern mobile devices, being so flat that Mini-USB connectors cannot be used anymore.
With their stainless steel housing, series 8270 connectors offer a shielded interface with improved mechanical durability, a raised pull-out force, and a guaranteed life of 10 000 mating cycles.
The new connectors apply to the current Micro-USB specification including OTG (On-The-Go) supplement allowing mobile devices to communicate directly via USB without the need of a PC.
The are available as Micro-USB female connector types B and AB in SMT.
