Press-Fit Precision Female Headers in 2.54 mm Pitch
W+P PRODUCTS presents press-fit precision female headers in 2.54 mm pitch to realize solderless electrical connections. The press-fit connectors offer a 10 to 30 times smaller failure rate than SMD connectors and in the same time they economize the costs for selective soldering.

The new series 153PF and 153PF-38 offer single and double row precision female headers with a length of the press-fit zone of 2.8 mm and 3.8 mm respectively . The recommended PCB thickness is 1.6 mm or 2.5 mm. The insulators consist of thermoplastic, rated UL94 V-0, the contact material consists of a screw machined brass sleeve with a 6-finger clip of Beryllium Copper to hold 0.635 mm square pins or 0.6-0.85 mm round pins. 4-finger clips to hold 0.4-0.56 mm round pins or 0.25 x 0.4 mm contacts are also available on request.
The gastight and long life cycle connection of a press-fit connector with the PCB is achieved by mechanical pressing of a press fit pin in a metallized hole of the PCB. Selective soldering becomes unnecessary and the established electrical connection is characterized by reduced production costs.
