Signal and Power Contacts Combined in a Single Connector
For Control and Measurement Systems: W+P PRODUCTS, system supplier in complete connector systems around PCBs, especially in small pitches, presents a compact signal/power connector family for control and measurement systems.
The space saving pin and female headers combine contacts for current ratings of 8,2 A with contacts for signal currents of 3 A in the same connector. As the same interface transmits as well control signals as power currents, the new connectors open up new possibilities of miniaturization and thereby a simplified board design.
The new series 987, 9870, 397 and 3970 are available as SMT- and Through Hole versions. The power contacts are designed in 5.08 mm pitch, with 2 to 4 contacts in single row. The signal contacts are designed in 2.54 mm pitch, with 2 to 24 contacts in double row. The contact material consists of copper alloy, the insulator consists of high temperature-resistant plastic, rated UL94 V-0. The solderability is guaranteed according to IEC 60512-12A, the operating temperature ranges from –40 to +105°C.
